How to prepare for financial armageddon? (Bring your own socks)

September 20, 2011

In light of the ongoing European financial crisis, Rocky is pleased to learn that the European Central Bank now provides visitors to their headquarters with a “hard hat” at no cost! However, they do ask visitors to  “wear socks.”

No mention is made whether visitors must empty their pockets of spare change upon entering.

For a full text of the ECB’s dress code, see “What to wear” at:

Thank you, Rocky. Euro-Disney eat your heart out. I noticed that the two German tours on 30 October are sold out, but there are still 8 places left in the English tour. From this I conclude that the Germans are just being Germans and the sock rules will work for them in any universe, while at least 40% the English-speakers remain undecided or flat-out rebellious on the matter of the socks. I know this is not scientific, but it is more interesting than the other possibilities such as a smaller population of English speakers, or that the word has gotten out that the English tour guide’s jokes really don’t work (in any universe).
